‘Tis the Season to be Balanced

Christmas can be a magnificent time of the year, friends, parties, holidays, festive cheer and a few drinks – what more could you ask for? The saying that you can get too much of a good thing can ring true if we’re not careful about how we manage the good things and our schedules in the coming weeks. Over cooking it in the social elements of the Christmas season often comes at the expense of the activities that keep us balanced in life – exercise, sleep, alone time, weekly routines and being outdoors. When life balance goes missing for some people Christmas can become a time associated with loneliness, family strife, burnout and sickness.

Why do my neck and shoulders hurt after a cold day?

As I write this article it is a sunny November day, but a brisk 5 degrees Celsius puts a chill in the London air to remind us of the time of year. We can often get caught by surprise by a sudden cold day in any month of the year. This year’s mild autumn lured us into a false sense of security that we don’t need a thick coat yet, and then wham – winter is here. At The Massage Centre we often have an influx of clients seeking pain relief after a sudden drop in temperature. They’re often surprised to hear that the weather may have had played a contributing role in their unexpected visit to a massage clinic.

Client Spotlight – Jill Meager

Jill Meager has been visiting TMC for about 5 years and it has been a privilege to get to know her. Jill is a very talented wildlife portrait artist and is involved in organising Artists At Home which opens up artist’s homes and collections to the public each June. She previously worked as an actor, playing leading roles on television, in film and on stage. Jill also coaches people in Leadership and Personal Coaching, Presentation and Speech writing alongside her painting work.
